At Vets of Geelong, we aim to be at the forefront by offering your pet the best available facilities and care.

One of the ways we do this is through the use of advanced digital x-ray equipment at all of our clinics.

Digital X-ray allows us to capture high quality diagnostic images quickly and efficiently- making the process smoother and more comfortable for both our patients and their families. Much like digital photography, these x-rays give us a clear image within seconds, allowing for faster diagnosis and ease of care.

IDEXX In-House Diagnostic Testing

At Vets of Geelong, we’re proud to use IDEXX in-house diagnostic technology, one of the most trusted and advanced veterinary testing systems worldwide. Having IDEXX equipment on site means we can provide fast, accurate results when your pet needs them most.

We can perform a wide range of tests—including blood chemistry, complete blood counts, electrolyte panels, and more—right here in the clinic. This allows us to quickly assess organ function, detect infections, monitor chronic conditions, and evaluate your pet’s overall health without waiting for external laboratory turnaround times.

Cytology

At Vets of Geelong, we offer in-house cytology to help diagnose your pet’s health concerns quickly and accurately. Cytology is a simple, minimally invasive test where we collect a small sample of cells—often from a lump, skin irritation, ear infection, or wound—and examine it under the microscope.

By performing cytology on-site, we can often provide answers the same day. This means less waiting, less worry, and faster treatment for your pet. In-house cytology helps us identify infections, inflammation, allergic reactions, and in many cases, detect abnormal or cancerous cells early.

Quick, reliable results allow us to make informed decisions and tailor the best possible treatment plan for your pet right away. It’s just one of the ways we ensure comprehensive, efficient care from the moment you walk through our doors.

Ultrasounds

At Vets of Geelong, we offer in-house ultrasound imaging to give you fast, detailed insights into your pet’s internal health. Ultrasound is a safe, painless, and non-invasive diagnostic tool that allows us to see soft tissues and organs in real time.

This advanced technology helps us examine the abdomen, heart, bladder, liver, kidneys, and other internal structures with exceptional clarity. It’s especially useful for diagnosing conditions such as abdominal discomfort, organ disease, pregnancy, internal masses, and fluid build-up.

Because we perform ultrasounds on-site, we can assess concerns promptly and provide answers without the delay of external referrals. This allows us to make immediate, well-informed decisions about your pet’s care and begin the right treatment sooner.

Our in-house ultrasound service ensures your pet receives timely, accurate, and compassionate care—right when they need it most.

Mobile CT & Advanced Imaging

Every Thursday, Insight visits our clinic with their mobile CT scanner and advanced imaging equipment, bringing specialist-level diagnostic services directly to our door. This means you don’t have to travel your pet to a separate facility for a CT — we can arrange everything right here, on-site at our clinic.

With Insight’s mobile service, your pet can benefit from high-quality CT imaging for complex diagnostics — such as evaluating head, spine, chest or internal conditions — in a familiar environment, surrounded by the team you already know and trust.

Once the scan is complete, we coordinate directly with Insight to review the results and develop the best treatment plan for your pet. This collaboration lets us deliver advanced diagnostics and personalised care together.
