Veterinary Nurse Opportunity | Vets of Geelong
Help Us Build One of the Best Veterinary Nursing Teams in Regional Victoria
At Vets of Geelong, we believe experienced veterinary nurses are the backbone of great veterinary care.
As our clinic group continues to grow, including the exciting opening of our brand-new East Geelong clinic, we’re looking for another passionate veterinary nurse to join our team and grow with us.
This role is not specifically tied to East Geelong itself. Instead, it offers the opportunity to work across our network of four modern clinics, alongside experienced veterinarians, highly capable nurses, and supportive leadership teams in a genuinely collaborative environment.
We’re building a workplace where nurses feel respected, supported, challenged, and genuinely valued for the role they play within veterinary medicine.
Why Nurses Enjoy Working at Vets of Geelong
A Team Environment That Actually Supports You
We know veterinary nursing can be incredibly rewarding, but we also understand the pressures that come with the profession.
That’s why we work hard to create clinics where our nurses feel supported by the people around them.
Our veterinarians and nurses work closely together as a team, with a strong focus on collaboration, communication, and patient care. There’s a genuine sense that everyone is working toward the same outcome together.
Like any busy clinic, there are always moments where an extra pair of hands would be welcomed, but for the most part our teams are staffed and structured in a way that allows nurses to feel supported rather than constantly overwhelmed.
Importantly, each clinic also has dedicated coordinators and experienced support people available for those day-to-day moments where guidance, assistance, or problem-solving is needed.
Dedicated Nurse Mentoring and Career Growth
We’re passionate about helping our nurses grow into the best version of themselves professionally.
Whether you’re an experienced nurse wanting to continue building your skills or someone earlier in their career who thrives with guidance and support, we place a strong emphasis on mentorship and team development.
Our nursing team is supported by experienced nurses and a designated Veterinary Nurse Mentor with the Vets of Geelong team, with junior nurses regularly shadowing and learning alongside more experienced team members.
As our clinic group continues to evolve and grow, new opportunities are naturally opening up within the business for nurses wanting to step into greater responsibility, leadership, training, or specialised areas of interest.
We see that as an exciting part of building the future of our nursing team.
A Workplace You’ll Actually Enjoy Being In
All of our clinics are modern, high-end fit-outs designed to create a genuinely enjoyable working environment for both clients and staff.
As you’ll no doubt see across our social media platforms, we’ve invested heavily in creating clinics that feel bright, open, modern, and welcoming. From consult rooms through to surgery, treatment, and dental areas, our clinics are designed to feel professional, calm, and enjoyable to work in.
We don’t believe veterinary teams should spend their days working in dark, cramped, outdated clinic environments. The entire experience has been designed to create a workplace our team can genuinely feel proud of.
Highly Utilised Nurses Who Play an Important Role
At Vets of Geelong, our nurses are heavily involved in patient care and clinical workflows.
You won’t simply be standing on the sidelines. Our nurses are actively involved in:
- Surgical nursing and anaesthesia monitoring
- Patient care and hospital management
- Laboratory and diagnostic tasks
- Nurse consultations and triage
- Client communication and education
- Supporting veterinarians through collaborative case management
We strongly believe nurses should be empowered and trusted to work to the full extent of their skills wherever possible.
Structured, Organised, and Supportive
We understand how important work-life balance and organisation are within veterinary medicine.
Our rosters are planned well in advance wherever possible, taking into account team strengths, continuity, and personal preferences where practical.
We also have strong clinic coordination and leadership support across all sites to help maintain workflow, communication, and team support throughout the day.
Progressive Clinics with an Exciting Future
Our clinics are continually evolving, including the upcoming launch of our brand-new East Geelong clinic.
We’re progressive in our thinking, committed to high standards of patient care, and focused on building systems and workflows that allow our teams to genuinely enjoy veterinary medicine while delivering exceptional care.
Most importantly, we’re focused on building a nursing team that people genuinely want to be part of.
