At Vets of Geelong, we offer a range of training programs designed to support your dog’s development at every stage. From early socialization to advanced obedience, our classes are tailored to meet the unique needs of your furry friend.

Our puppy and dog school offers essential training and socialisation classes to help your new furry family member or mature dog develop good behaviours and become a well-adjusted companion.

Explore our training options:

Baby Classes: Ideal for puppies aged 8 to 12 weeks, focusing on early socialization, confidence building, and basis commands.

Junior Classes: Ideal for puppies aged 12 to 20 weeks, focusing on early socialization, confidence building, and basis commands.

Adolescent Classes: Designed for dogs aged 5 to 12 months, these classes help install basic manners during the challenging teenage phase.

Bubs and Pups Classes: Tailored for families expecting a new baby, these sessions combine gentle handling techniques with basic obedience training to ensure a harmonious household.

One on One Behavioural Training: Personalized session addressing specific behavioural challenges, providing comprehensive strategies and support.

All classes are conducted by our experienced trainer, Lisa, who brings over 36 years of dog training expertise.

🦮 Is Puppy Training Really Necessary?

Getting a new puppy is nothing short of delightful! They bounce, they play, they get over-excited and are constantly happy discovering all the new things the world around them has to offer. Life is great, and every experience is new and fun when you’re a puppy! A bit like being a baby. But unlike children, puppy school isn’t compulsory and so not all dogs grow up knowing how to behave towards other dogs, other people and in different situations. Just like children, puppies need to know what is acceptable, and to learn what is right and wrong, otherwise nobody will want them around.

Puppies are receptive to being affected by life experiences in their early development stages. We need to provide safe, calm, and controlled socialisation for our puppies that reflects a solid reference library of life experiences moving forward. At Vets Of Geelong, we offer puppy classes for baby puppies – 8 weeks of age to 12 weeks of age and junior puppy class for puppies 12 weeks of age to 20 weeks of age.
