At Vets of Geelong, we offer consultations by appointment across our three convenient locations — Highton, Geelong West, and Lara.

Our standard 20-minute consultations include a comprehensive health check, whether your pet is here for a routine wellness visit or you’re concerned about a specific issue.

As a family-owned group of clinics, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality, personalised care in well-equipped, comfortable settings — tailored to meet the unique needs of each pet we see.

What to Expect During a 20-Minute Consult:

Full Health Check:
  • Thorough examination of your pet from nose to tail.
  • Checking vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate.
  • Evaluating eyes, ears, teeth, skin, and coat condition.
  • Palpating the abdomen to check for any abnormalities.
  • Assessing mobility and joint health.
Wellness or Illness Assessment:
  • Discussing your pet’s health history, diet, behaviour, and any concerns you may have.
  • For wellness checks, focusing on preventive care and maintaining optimal health.
  • For illness assessments, diagnosing the issue and discussing symptoms in detail.
Health Management Plan:
  • Creating a personalised care plan based on the findings.
  • Recommendations for vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental care, and nutrition.
  • If an illness is detected, outlining treatment options and next steps.

Facilities and Services:

  • In-House Blood Testing: Our clinic is equipped with modern blood analysis machines that provide quick and accurate results. This allows us to check organ function, detect infections, and monitor ongoing health conditions without delay. Having results available the same day means we can start the right treatment plan for your pet as soon as possible.

  • X-rays and Ultrasound: We use advanced imaging technology to look inside your pet’s body without invasive procedures. X-rays help us examine bones, joints, and the chest or abdomen for conditions like fractures, arthritis, or swallowed objects. Ultrasound gives us a clear view of soft tissues and organs, such as the heart, liver, and bladder, helping us diagnose internal problems with greater accuracy.

  • ECG and Blood Pressure Monitoring: Just like in human medicine, monitoring heart function and blood pressure is vital for your pet’s wellbeing. Our ECG (electrocardiogram) records the heart’s electrical activity to detect irregular rhythms or heart disease. Blood pressure monitoring helps us identify and manage conditions like hypertension, which can impact organs such as the kidneys, eyes, and brain. Regular monitoring is especially important for older pets or those with chronic health issues.

Our state-of-the-art facilities ensure that we can provide comprehensive care during your visit, allowing us to quickly diagnose and treat your pet’s health issues. At Vets of Geelong, your pet’s well-being is our top priority, and we strive to offer the best possible care in a welcoming and supportive environment.
