Focused individual skill classes that can be booked as an individual class or as a cluster of consecutive classes. Each class is designed to focus on a particular skill set that you and your dog may need tweaking.
Week one’s class is compulsory for those who haven’t attended the Adolescent class, as it underpins necessary skills for the remaining 4 classes.
All classes have comprehensive “take home” lesson plans that recap each class’ key teaching points.
Through our class we endeavour to tailor the classes to suit the group’s needs as well.
This class is not suitable for reactive dogs – please inquire about our “one on one” classes by appointment.
Each week there is a focus on reading body language, redirecting to remain in a think/learn zone, heavy focus on leash walking skills, including where suitable, using 10 metre leashes.
We also work on basic instructions: sit, drop, stand, watch, touch, stay, a solid recall, consent to “go to say hi“, stay plus a few tricks.
Each week builds previous classes with the end goal of going on a walk around the shopping centre, so we can recognise where, when, why the dog needs support and how best to provide that support.
Usually Saturday mornings 11am to 12pm.
We encourage children to participate in our puppy classes so they too can play a role in looking after their puppy in a fun way.
Weekly classes are held in our purpose built training facility located upstairs at our Highton Clinic.
Canine Academy – $249 Investiment

Dogs are like children, they pick up different behaviours and habits from their surroundings and influences early in life, and these little nuances, which at the time can seem funny or cute, can develop into unwanted behaviours later on in life. The difference with dogs, however, is that because we are humans, we don’t always understand canine behaviour, and when those red flags show up they are not always obvious to us. That’s why it is vital to seek professional dog obedience training in Geelong as soon as you get your new pet.
The most critical period for training and socialisation is the first 4 months of a dog’s life. Puppies are most receptive to learning new behaviours when their brains are maturing, and they are curious about the world that surrounds them. Starting early is vital to set good habits from the start, and it is the easiest time to train them as everything you do is new, and fun. Read More
