Expecting a baby is a joyous time, but it can also bring uncertainty for the family’s pets. Dogs often don’t understand and may become unsettled with the upcoming changes, and the introduction of a newborn. It can be a stressful time for both the parents and the dog alike. Our in house Dog Trainer, Lisa, will work one on one with you to help make a plan to ensure this transition is easier for all. Preparation prior is the key to success

What’s involved?

Session 1 & 2 – We explore the specific issues we need to consider when bringing a new baby into the home and begin practical management solutions for your dog over the two sessions. This preparation is important to limit stress on you and your dog during this life style change. (please note – serious behaviour issues may require ‘behaviour training’ not ‘bubs and pups’ sessions)

During the Classes we will discuss topics such as

  • Teaching to settle especially while trying to soothe a baby

  • Walking beside the pram

  • Discussing what changes may occur once the baby arrive                           
  • Create a personalised plan based on you family and lifestyle 
By appointment – Usually Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays – Around classes so 12pm to 3.30pm.

Classes are held in our purpose built training facility located at our Highton clinic.

The course is  2 x 45 minute sessions.
