Afterpay Available!

Afterpay Available!

Afterpay may be one way to help manage the cost of a veterinary visit. If you are considering it, contact our reception team before the appointment or before payment to check whether it is currently available for your invoice. Local availability, eligible services and transaction approval are separate from your pet’s clinical assessment.

How Pay in 4 works

Afterpay’s Pay in 4 product generally divides a purchase into four equal payments over six weeks. The first payment is due at purchase and the remaining payments are taken from the nominated debit or credit card. Afterpay describes Pay in 4 as interest-free when payments are made on time, but provider terms and fees can change. Check the current terms before proceeding.

You need an Afterpay account and may need to provide personal information and link a payment method. Individual purchases are subject to the provider’s approval process. Do not assume that a transaction will be approved or that a particular spending amount will be available.

Plan for the full cost of care

A payment arrangement may help with expenses, but it does not change which examination, investigations or treatment are clinically appropriate. If your pet is unwell or injured, contact a veterinarian promptly rather than delaying care while you organise payment. Our veterinary team can explain the recommended care and estimate, while reception can explain the payment options currently accepted.

Before choosing a buy now, pay later arrangement, consider whether each repayment will fit within your regular commitments. If you are uncertain about a charge, the arrangement or the due dates, ask before proceeding. A missed payment may have consequences under the provider’s current terms.

What to ask before your visit

Tell reception that you would like to ask about Afterpay. The team can confirm the current local process, whether it can be used for the relevant invoice, and what you need to do at payment. If it is unavailable or not approved for a transaction, ask about other payment options currently accepted. Payment arrangements do not guarantee finance approval, eligibility, funding, treatment availability or that they will prevent delays.

If cost is a concern and your pet needs attention, contact our team promptly so we can discuss the next appropriate step. Vets of Geelong is a family-owned veterinary group serving local pet owners across its four-clinic network; payment questions can be directed to reception without replacing veterinary advice.

Frequently asked questions

Is Afterpay the same as pet insurance or GAPonly?

No. Afterpay is a separate payment product. Pet insurance benefits, Petcover direct claims and GAPonly each have their own policy, eligibility and provider requirements. Petcover may pay Vets of Geelong directly for eligible claims where that arrangement applies; this is different from Afterpay and from conventional reimbursement. Ask reception which process is relevant before your visit.

Where can I find general payment information?

See our Payment Options page for general information, or contact our team with questions before a planned visit. For urgent concerns, call a veterinarian or an emergency veterinary service promptly rather than waiting to arrange payment.
