Originally from Wodonga, Mikala moved to Geelong to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Animal Science. Having grown up fostering dogs and previously worked at a doggy daycare, animals have always been a big part of her life.
Alongside her role at Vets of Geelong, Mikala works in ecotourism as a snorkel and surf instructor with Sea All Dolphin Swims. This has given her the opportunity to work around some of our incredible local marine life, including dolphins, Australian fur seals, Australasian gannets and weedy sea dragons.
At home, Mikala has two Border Collies, Jed and Jasper, as well as a blue budgie named Skipper.
Outside of work, Mikala enjoys spending time with friends, surfing at Jan Juc and getting out on Port Phillip Bay. With her background in animal science and genuine love of animals, Mikala is a great addition to our Vets of Geelong reception team.
